Fishing from shore? Look for E4, SRA Day Use Area, on the northeast shore near the Texas 154 bridge. The state directory lists a free fishing pier here. For a trailer launch near that bridge, use the separate F1 ramp.

Choose the right entrance

E4 has the free fishing pier. F1 is a free public boat launch. F2 is a private fee-charging launch.
For bank fishing, find E4 on the official map. F1 and F2 identify two different launches at the bridge.
  • E4, SRA Day Use Area. Choose this for the pier. TPWD lists no boat ramp here. Check the approach and the current pier status before travelling if step-free access is essential.
  • F1, Highway 154 Public Ramp. The Sabine River Authority operates a two-lane launch on the southeast end of the bridge. TPWD lists no launch fee. F2, Minnow Bucket Marina, is also near the bridge and charges a ramp fee. Use the map code when setting your destination.
  • A1, Rains County Ramp. North of the FM 2946 bridge, the county operates a free single-lane launch. The neighbouring Collins Landing Marina charges separately for its services.

Before leaving home

Open the lake rules, find your species and read any lake exception before applying a statewide limit. Check the licence and endorsement requirements for the people fishing. A free ramp describes the access fee only.

Use the facility directory for the operator’s contact details. Ask about current lake level, ramp or pier closures and the walk from parking. A listed facility can be unavailable on the day.
