Open official weather, tide and water sources, then record your observations and the time checked. Keep access and return-route decisions beside the conditions. The Delaware River station panel can fetch recent USGS observations. Your own notes stay as you recorded them.
Is the Delaware River rising or falling?
Choose the gauge nearest your reach. Check the height change and observation time before adding the conditions to your notes.
Read the numbers. Gauge height is measured against the station’s reference level. Flow is the volume passing the gauge each second. A higher level than yesterday does not tell you the depth at your feet or whether a crossing is safe.
